After scaled-back get-togethers, last December, we could all use a bit of Christmas spirit!
While Santa is on vacation, celebrating Christmas in July is a wonderful way to spread some much needed mid-year cheer.
What is Christmas in July?
The idea of celebrating Christmas in July was started by a girls summer camp in South Carolina on July 24, 1935. Shortly after in 1940, the theme was popularized by a Hollywood comedy, Christmas in July.
Since its inception, Christmas in July has evolved to include annual traditions such as a Christmas movie marathon on the Hallmark Channel, volunteering with the Edmonton Christmas Bureau, or throwing your own Christmas in July party.
With a summer twist on Christmas decor, food and music we’ll show you how to bring some Christmas festivity to those warm summer months.

These mains, sides and desserts are easy to make meaning cooks at all levels can make and enjoy a mid-year festive feast.
No meal is complete without the pairing of a carefully crafted cocktail or mocktail. If you’re a fan of the classics try the Slushy Cherry Old Fashioned or a Sparkling Apple Pie on the Rocks. If you’re searching for something refreshing indulge in Rudolph’s Tipsy Spritzer or a Frozen hot chocolate with a mint or cocoa liquor. Frozen Hot Chocolate is also a great mocktail or kid friendly beverage.
