Glow Update: 24 November 2020

To Our Valued Guests, Vendors, Staff, Sponsors and Performers:

As many of you are aware, recent restrictions have impacted the way businesses across the province must operate, and Glow Christmas is no exception. Just as we have worked tirelessly to prepare our show, we are now working within those restrictions to figure out the best way to move forward.

To that end, we have a critical update for those of you who may have already purchased tickets, or are waiting to hear from us before making the decision to attend:

Due to restrictions set forth by Alberta Health Authority, Glow Christmas will postpone our opening date until December 18th, 2020.

As an organization, we understand that this is a necessary step that follows AHS protocol and keeps everyone involved as safe as possible—we do not take that lightly. But as the people behind the organization, we are heartbroken. We want to be part of your holiday season and help you make memories together—even if we must do things a little differently. We hope that you will still allow us to be a part of your Christmas as we want you to be a part of ours.

From the beginning, we have kept guest and staff safety paramount in our operations. Using Alberta Health Services as our guide, we created and implemented protocol that ensures Glow Christmas is a safe place for our guests, our team, and their families. We stand by those detailed measures. Read about our rigorous, AHS-approved safety protocols here.

Our entire light show and markets sit empty while being fully set up, and our amazing staff and vendors are ready to receive guests. We are devastated to postpone our grand opening. To our more than 150 employees, 45 artisan vendors, our food vendors, and our performers, we thank you for your dedication and for your patience. You were chosen to join the Glow Team, at least in part, because of your great attitudes, your enthusiasm for the holidays, and your commitment to making memories together. We can’t wait to see you on December 18. We would like to acknowledge our gracious host facility the Edmonton Expo Centre, who have been and continue to be, wonderful. We couldn’t ask for a better organization to partner with to bring Glow to the people of Edmonton.

To our guests, you are the reason we’re here. We’ve been through a tough year together, and we believe finding the ways to celebrate the season is more important than ever. We are committed to your safety, and we promise to uphold that commitment as we move forward.
If you have purchased tickets and are scheduled to attend Glow from November 18 and December 17, 2020, we have some options for your consideration:

  1. Move My Tickets. If you would like to attend Glow once we have opened, please email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Move My Tickets.” We will reply to this email with a promo code you can use to select your new tickets for this year’s festival.
  2. See You Next Christmas. If our revised 2020 dates mean you are unable to attend our festival this season, please email us at [email protected] with the subject line, “See You Next Christmas.” We will reply to this email with a promo code you can use to select tickets for next year’s festival. Please know that by exchanging your ticket, you are supporting a local business and placing your faith in Edmonton’s ability to come back stronger than ever. If you choose this option, you will receive $5 in Glow Bucks. We are thankful.
  3. Refund My Ticket. We will honour all refund requests. We hope to see you back at Glow in the future. Refunds will return the ticket price to your original form of payment. Unfortunately, ticket-processing fees that were part of that original purchase cannot be refunded. We encourage, then, that you exchange your ticket for later in the festival or for next year, as that remains the best value. Please email us at [email protected] with the subject line, “Refund.”

You can also move or exchange your tickets online by following these steps:

  1. To exchange your tickets for an alternate date or time, head over to and select “Exchange Tickets.” You will be prompted to login if you are not already.
  2. Once the exchange has been started you can browse and select a new event and tickets.
  3. You will receive confirmation of the temporary exchange credit on your account and you will have 1 hour to use the temporary exchange credits. If you can’t use them in an hour you can start again.
  4. Once you have selected your NEW tickets the credit amount will be applied to the transaction.

We ask for your patience in processing these requests. Our local team in Edmonton is working diligently to make these changes, and we expect a surge of requests in the next few days. We kindly ask for your patience with our support team as they process your selection as efficiently as possible.

Glow Christmas is a small locally owned business that has been impacted, like so many of our neighbours, by the events of this year. We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these difficult times together. Without the support of Edmontonians and our local vendors and sponsors, our independent event would not be possible. Our ultimate goal is to provide you with the safest and most festive event this season and create wonderful memories and holiday spirit. We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
